EmerAgents on Azure: OpenAI, Entra ID, and Dynamics-Ready Orchestration
How EmerSoftware and EmerAgents integrate with Microsoft Azure: Azure OpenAI and AI Foundry under governance, Service Bus/Event Grid contracts, Dataverse/Dynamics domain context, Entra ID perimeters, and AKS/Functions workers.
By Emerson Amorim · Founder and Principal Software Engineer
Azure customers already bought identity (Entra), integration (Service Bus), and often Dynamics. EmerAgents sits as the factory control plane: Azure OpenAI as managed inference, Entra as the human and service perimeter, Dataverse as curated domain memory — not a chatbot bolted onto Microsoft 365.

AI — Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, Cognitive Services
Primary services: Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Cognitive Services.
Same EmerAgents pattern as on other clouds: managed models under evaluation, tool allowlists, and HITL outside the model vendor’s demo UI.
- Content filters and EmerAgents policy stack — defense in depth.
- Foundry deployments are swappable; FactoryRuns keep stable contracts.
- Cognitive Services used as specialized tools, not as unchecked writers to ERP.
Integration — Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management
Primary services: Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management.
Enterprise messaging and APIM become the contracted boundary. EmerAgents publishes and consumes events; it does not scrape UIs.
- Idempotent Service Bus sessions for write tools.
- APIM exposes only operations mapped to semantic owners.
- Logic Apps may automate edges; orchestration authority stays in EmerAgents.
Data / CRM ops — Dataverse, Fabric, Dynamics 365
Primary services: Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365.
The Domain Agent works on owned entities in Dataverse/Dynamics with explicit field-level contracts — commercial and operational context for pilots.
- Read-first in production; writes behind human gates on revenue objects.
- Fabric/Lakehouse feeds diagnosis and ROI evidence, not free-form dumps.
- Semantic ownership: who owns Account, Order, Case — before any agent write.
Identity — Entra ID and Key Vault
Primary services: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Key Vault.
SSO for operators, managed identities for connectors, Key Vault for secrets. The agent never holds a long-lived client secret in memory beyond the call.
- RBAC separates factory operators from high-risk write tools.
- Conditional Access for HITL approvers.
- Key Vault references in adapters — zero secrets in SpecBundles.
App hosting — AKS, Functions, App Service
Primary services: AKS, Azure Functions, App Service.
EmerAgents control-plane services and connectors deploy as first-class Azure workloads with observability into the Operations role.
- Functions for thin adapters; AKS for the orchestrator.
- App Service for operator consoles with Entra auth.
- Cost and incident signals feed the next FactoryRun.
Commercial fit
Highest fit for Microsoft-first accounts: Dynamics + Entra + Azure OpenAI, with EmerAgents orchestrating factory delivery and cross-system exceptions into SAP or custom cores.
What EmerAgents will not do
- No UI bots clicking SAP GUI, Salesforce screens, or Oracle Forms disguised as “agents.”
- No LLM with standing admin credentials or API keys pasted into prompts.
- No rip-and-replace of S/4, Salesforce, or ERP “because AI” — orchestrate the investment already paid.

Azure OpenAI without Entra + EmerAgents is just another chat window.
Microsoft-first stack done right: • Azure OpenAI under EmerAgents policy • Entra + Key Vault as perimeter • Service Bus contracts, not screen scraping • Dynamics/Dataverse with semantic ownership https://www.emersoftware.com.br/en/blog/emeragents-azure-integration — Emerson Amorim, EmerSoftware
